Can any of you believe we are in March already? We sure can’t! With the year progressing, we cannot help but get EGGcited over the fact that Easter is around the corner. With the fun and festive holiday approaching, have you thought about how you are going to spend it with your kiddos? Coming up with ideas to keep the little ones occupied can be a tricky task, that is exactly why we have devised a go-to list for you and the family to refer to, so you can stick to having fun.
Here are our top five EGGstra awesome activities for this Easter break:
The good old Easter egg hunt: You cannot beat the classics. Some signatures are here to STAY. Whether you are planning this for the indoors or outdoors, a treasure egg hunt will surely fill your day with laughter, energy and memories. This is a great chance to grab a glimpse of your kid’s competitive and sporty side.
An egg and spoon race: Try this good old-fashioned outdoor game after your Easter egg hunt. This simple game is ridiculously fun and will surely tucker those kiddies out. All you need are eggs (hard-boiled are the least messy) and plastic, metal or wooden spoons for each participant. Now RACE! The winner will be the one who reaches the finish line first without dropping their egg. For a fun addition, why not let all the race participants decorate their own hard boiled egg? **which leads us to activity three 😉**
Decorating Easter eggs: Classics, classics and more classics. Did Easter even happen if you didn’t spend some time decorating eggs? Get your creative juices flowing and allow your kids to bring out their inner artist. This can be done with real or fake eggs, but ensure there is heaps of paint, glitter, googly eyes and other craftsty things.
Baking together: Because there is nothing better than bunny shaped cookies okay.. Make a mess in the kitchen with your creativity, your kids will have a blast. Assign each kiddy with a task that is age appropriate and ensure that every cookie stays in theme. The treat at the end? Devouring the cookies of course.
Colouring – Easter theme obviously! Print off heaps of Easter themed colouring pages and keep a good stock of colour pencils, crayons and markers. Once the little ones are done, hang them up around the house for some custom-made seasonal decor. Your little resident Picasso will be so EGGstatic to feature in their very own private gallery.
We hope you enjoy the Easter season and now that you have your handy go-to activity list, so will your children. What are some other activities you enjoy doing with the kids over Easter? Please feel free to leave a comment below and let us know!
